I think it’s important for you to know that I’m at the point where I am really only writing a dissertation to have some consistency with my health insurance. I’m not purposefully prolonging the process–it’s generally slow because it makes me miserable–but I need to be able to afford my prescriptions.

My field is tossing the remnants of its corpse into the generative AI maw and mourning the loss of their biggest academic conference. Maybe we deserve this, because not one university out there deserves us.
